DREAA/Real Estate Center Spring Conference

The Real Estate Center at DePaul University co-hosted its 10th annual spring conference with the DePaul Real Estate Alumni Alliance on Thursday, June 7 at the Union League Club in Chicago with a stellar lineup of speakers. Over 200 industry professionals attended the event which was titled Riding the Real Estate Recovery: Identifying & Maximizing Opportunities.

The keynote speaker Sam Chandan, Ph.D. FRICS, President and Chief Economist of Chandan Economics gave a broad look at the economy, with a focus on real estate.

He was followed by the panel "From Where I Sit" with panelists George Kohl, Senior Managing Director at CBRE and Christy Lockridge, Regional Manager at GE Capital Real Estate. In this conversation the two panelists compared their perspectives on supply and demand of capital, changing occupancy trends by tenants and other critical issues.

The final panel "The View from Above" was moderated by Douglas Crocker, Chairman of Pearlmark Multifamily Partners and included panelists:

Debra Cafaro, Chairman and CEO, Ventas
David Neithercut, President, CEO and Trustee, Equity Residential
Stephen Quazzo, Co-Founder and CEO, Pearlmark Real Estate Partners, LLC
