Career planning & internship services are additional resources for students seeking careers in the real estate industry. The program includes job and internship postings, advising through real estate mentors, networking events with real estate professionals throughout the year, and an annual Collegiate Real Estate Conference with six universities featuring over 50 real estate professionals who provide career planning guidance. To further prepare students for the workplace, the Center provides coaching on resume writing and offers workshops on dining etiquette, interviewing techniques, and appropriate attire for the office.
Employers seeking qualified candidates for open positions or are interested in contributing to The Real Estate Center's networking events can contact Steve Bell at 312/362-5920 or sbell5@depaul.edu.
The Mentoring Program focuses on matching Real Estate majors with experienced real estate principals. Mentors help students identify such issues as career path, course selection, and introductions to potential employers. They also help students think through what skills are necessary for a successful career in real estate. The mentoring program provides a series of meetings over a four or five month period, and is offered in two cohorts per academic year.
